π Kickoff Meeting
What to expect for your kickoff meeting and how to prepare for it
As a part of the pentest checklist, Software Secured will request a kickoff meeting between the pentesting team and the customer's pentest primary owner.
It is best to schedule this kickoff call 1-2 business days before the test start date, and no later than within the first few hours of the first day of testing.
This meeting will allow you to ask questions about the pentest checklist or testing in general. If there are specific requirements you will need around reporting, this should be disclosed during this meeting.
Project Components
If your project contains large assets that can be split into separate logical components, we will ask you about this option in the kickoff call. This will result in your findings being associated with one (or possibly many) individual component(s) in your project. This can greatly simplify separation of concerns and reporting requirements after your pentest is complete.
For more information on how Project Components can simplify your vulnerability management, please see Project Components
Application Demo
We will also ask for a demo of the application from you.
Ideally, this demo should include:
A general technical overview.
Demos of the top 4-5 use cases, preferably in the specific environment provided for testing.
Validate that the application/environment is fully accessible, functional, and configured before the start of the test and identify any gaps to prevent delays.
Follow-up technical questions to the demo/overview.
Please ensure all primary technical contacts are present to address any technical questions about the target environment.
