Jira

Connect your most important Jira boards to streamline project management.

Note: This integration is available with the Standard Plus package or above.

Prerequisites

An account with Org Admin permissions.

Steps

  1. Start the integration setup.

    1. In the Portal navigation sidebar, locate the Integrations page near the bottom and open it

    2. Find the Jira integration card, and then click Add Jira Account.

  2. Generate a Jira API token.

    1. Log in to your Jira account

    2. Click your profile icon, and then click Manage Account.

    3. In the new window, click on the Security tab and then click Create and manage API tokens.

    4. Create a new API token with a relevant name, such as Portal Integration Token. Set a long expiry, but not too long; Software Secured recommends 1 year.

    5. Copy the token.

  3. Connect Portal to Jira.

    1. On Portal, continue enabling the integration.

    2. In the server URL, enter the domain of your Jira tenant. The URL usually looks like the following example: <your-company>.atlassian.com

    3. Enter your Jira username and the API token from step 2, and then click Next.

    Add your Jira account that you want to integrate with Portal.
  4. Select projects and boards.

    1. Select the Jira Project that you would like to connect. When creating tickets in Jira from vulnerabilities in Portal, they will be created in this project.

    2. Select the Portal Project that you would like to connect to.

      Choose the projects and boards to integrate.
  5. Configure field mapping.

Note

  1. Select the Jira record type that you would like the integration to use when creating new records. You can select any record type from your project.

  2. If necessary, customize the field mapping by selecting different fields from the dropdown menus.

    Choose which fields in Portal will populate which fields in Jira.
  3. Review and enable the integration.

    1. Review your integration configuration.

    2. To enable the integration, click Finish.
